ABCs Of Death is coming back for round 2 with 26 new Directors, and 26 new ways to die. Even cooler, they are once again hosting an open call to find some hot new horror talent to take the title of  the 26th Director. Am I speaking your language? Then make sure to take a second (or a day) and watch some of the submitted shorts. It’s truly awesome to be able to soak in just how great of a genre horror is, as well as, get a taste of the people who are eager to keep creating new art in order to keep wowing us.

Mascot

I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t give you one of my favorite submissions, courtesy of Herbivore Productions. For the past year, Herbivore Productions has been a husband/wife tag team to watch out for. They have a lot of heart, and a real kitsch and clever way of approaching horror. M Is For Mascot With A Machete has a little “laces out” Ray Finkle vibe, and is easily my favorite production of theirs to date. After all, what sports fan hasn’t wished they could replicate a thing or two from this 3 minute short upon a player who you have a love/hate relationship with. Like what you see? Make sure to click on over HERE  and hit the like button to help move them into the top 12. Then when you’re done, channel some Sunday football and pop this game day classics inspired pizza in the oven.

C Is For Chili Cheese Fries Pizza

A football game isn’t legit unless you have one of the following three things: 1) Chili 2) Cheese Fries 3) Pizza. I think it’s safe to say that the Mascot With A Machete didn’t get a good spread of these on game day, and thus blood was shed. So in my attempt to give Jay Cutler a running start against Chicagoans I give you the Chili Cheese Fries Pizza.

Ingredients

-       Favorite Pizza dough recipe or 1 premade pizza crust to save time

-       1 (15 oz) Can of Chili

-       ½ Cup White Onion, Diced

-       2 Cups Good Quality Mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

-       1 Bag Crinkle Cut French fries

-       1 Tablespoon Fresh chives, diced

-       1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt

-       ¼ Teaspoon Seasoning Salt

-       ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 Degrees F. Bake French fries according to package instructions, but remove 15 minutes early. Spread the can of chili on the pizza dough. Layer with the garlic salt and onions. Follow with enough semi cooked French fries to cover the circumference of the pizza. Sprinkle with cheese, and top off with fresh chives. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown. If using premade crust, bake according to manufacturers directions.
